Joshua Hunter reviews Queen of the Ring, Ash Avildsen's biopic about Mildred Burke, the pioneering wrestler who broke into a sport banned for women across most of America and became the first million-dollar female athlete in history. Emily Bett Rickards leads the ensemble as Burke, with Josh Lucas playing her husband, promoter, & abuser Billy Wolfe, with fan favorite Walton Goggins rounding out the cast as promoter Jack Pfefer. Joshua breaks down whether the film's true story and physical performances earn its "inspiring underdog biopic" label, digs into Rickards' lead performance, & gives his honest verdict on whether this one rises above the standard biopic playbook or gets pinned for the three count by the format.

Joshua Hunter reviews They Will Kill You, Kirill Sokolov's blood-soaked action-horror-comedy starring Zazie Beetz as a woman who takes a housekeeping job in a mysterious New York City high-rise — only to discover the building's residents are hiding a deadly secret. Joshua breaks down whether the film's gonzo, genre-blending chaos earns the comparisons to Ready or Not, digs into Beetz's go-for-broke performance, and unpacks the stacked supporting cast including Heather Graham, Patricia Arquette, and Tom Felton. He gives his honest verdict on whether the movie's midnight-movie energy holds up once the initial grindhouse thrills wear off, or if the films multiple plot points drag it down.

Joshua Hunter reviews Byeeee, Chell Stephen's pitch-black comedy starring friend of the podcast Romina D'Ugo as Andy, a disgraced tech founder who retreats to her family's abandoned lakeside cottage after a very public scandal — for what she insists will be her final weekend alive. Joshua breaks down how the film balances its dark humor with genuine emotional weight, digs into D'Ugo's breakout performance, and unpacks whether this two-hander about performance, isolation, and the absurd logistics of self-destruction earns its comedy without undercutting its heavier themes.

Joshua Hunter dives into Mile End Kicks, Chandler Levack's coming-of-age rom-com starring Barbie Ferreira as Grace, a 24-year-old music critic who moves to Montreal in 2011 to write a book about Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill — and instead ends up entangled with two members of the same indie band she's supposed to be covering. Joshua breaks down whether this loosely structured, "early 2010s hipster" energy actually works, Ferreira's lead performance, and if the film's takes on arts criticism & land with real weight.

Steven Soderbergh returns with The Christophers, an art-world dark comedy starring Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel in a duel of wits neither actor backs down from. McKellen plays an aging, once-celebrated painter; Coel plays the forger his estranged children hire to secretly complete his unfinished works. Joshua Hunter breaks down why some critics are calling this Soderbergh's most emotionally resonant film in years, digs into the electric chemistry between McKellen and Coel, and gives his honest verdict on whether this two-hander lives up to the hype.

The Jonas Brothers are back as Connect 3 in Disney's Camp Rock 3, and Joshua Hunter is here with the honest take. A new crop of campers battles for a spot opening the band's reunion tour, but does the sequel earn its nostalgia or just coast on 2000s Disney Channel goodwill? Joshua breaks down the new cast, the returning favorites, and whether this one's worth rocking out to — or skipping altogether. No hype, no sugarcoating, just real movie talk.

Joshua Hunter blasts off into The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Illumination and Nintendo's follow-up to their 2023 blockbuster — and this time, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad head into space to rescue a kidnapped Rosalina from Bowser Jr. 2026's first billion-dollar movie and the year's biggest sequel debut, but critics weren't nearly as impressed, with plenty calling out a thin story buried under nonstop galaxy-hopping spectacle. Joshua digs into whether the film's visuals and new characters (hello, Donald Glover's Yoshi and Glen Powell's Fox McCloud) make up for a script that critics say coasts on fan service.

Josh Duhamel directs and stars in Preschool, playing a dad locked in an increasingly unhinged rivalry with Michael Socha over the last spot at London's most exclusive preschool. Joshua breaks down whether the escalating chaos earns its laughs, how Duhamel handles double duty behind and in front of the camera, and if the film's message gets lost under the slapstick.
